Here is what we talked about at Thursdays Rochester Movie Makers Meeting 8/28/08:

Elected Mike Boas Secretary of Rochester Movie Makers.

Rochester Movie Makers Summer Video Challenge Viewing has been moved to October or November to allow all the Team Captains time to finish their work. Post can take a long time to be done right.
Status of Teams:
Dave Conley and Derrick Petrush showed a trailer of their short film, It All Comes Out in the Wash. They have completed shooting and are working on post.
Mike Russo (wishfishproductions@gmail.com) and Derrick Petrush are working on 1 Kill. Some shooting is still to be done.
Kevin Graham has finished shooting For Whom the Phone Rings and is working on post. They plan on finishing this month.
Johannes Bockwoldt A Tender Kiss is postponing shooting this weekend and looking for a better location.
Stan Main and Devon Gilbert are rehearsing with cast and crew this weekend for a shoot 9/5-7.
Reuben Tapp is casting for Getting to Know My Monster.

Matt Ehlers talked about his feature Smoking Laws. There are a series of showings of Smoking Laws next week, Sept 7-10 at the Abilene Bar and Lounge (outside on the patio)153 Liberty Pole Way. The movie has gotten great reviews. Its $5 in advance and only $7 at the door. For more information go to www.smokinglawsmovie.com

Copies of the two Rochester Movie Makers audition DVDs with 23 actors in the Rochester area are available for sale. They come with a contact list and can be purchased by writing to stan@rochestermoviemakers.org. The charge is $20 for both DVDs for non members and $5 for paid voting members of RMM. Make checks payable to Rochester Movie Makers.

The voting members present at the August RMM meeting voted unanimously to donate $150 to the Brighton Library which has housed us without charge for over a year.

In addition to the trailer for It All Comes Out in the Wash we saw videos from Sean Downey (a trailer from his soon to be feature) and a wonderful documentary on the Japanese conflict with China during WWII from Adrian Esposito.

The next RMM Executive Committee meeting is 9/11 at 6pm Spot Coffee Downtown, second floor. The Executive Committee has an elected opening for Treasurer and at least 2 at large positions open for interested persons who would like to make Rochester Movie Makers a strong organization by volunteering to attend another short meeting each month (usually an hour) and an hour or so a week (4 hours a month) working on projects.
